Project Description: Our team member worked as a Data Consultant, providing expert consultancy services for routine data collection from Youth Hubs, referral facilities, and family planning (FP) service providers. The responsibilities included:
- Planning and conducting routine data collection
- Validating data to ensure validity, reliability, and precision
- Capturing electronic data using DAI Collect
- Participating in quarterly joint data review meetings and providing continuous feedback
Outcome: The project ensured that high-quality data was available periodically for programmatic decision-making, significantly improving the quality of family planning services provided.
Project 2: IntegratE Project Data Collection
Client: Population Council (IntegratE project co-funded by Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Merck Sharp & Dohme (MSD))
Duration: January 2021 – September 2021
Project Description: Our team member served as a Data Consultant, visiting community pharmacists and patent medicine vendors (PPMVs) to collect data, review routine service statistics, and ensure data quality. Key tasks included:
- Reviewing client records and Family Planning Monthly Summary Forms
- Ensuring the availability and quality of data submitted to DHIS2
- Providing feedback sessions with providers
Outcome: This project resulted in improved data quality and accuracy for family planning services, supporting better health outcomes and informed decision-making.
Project 3: Immunisation Plus Days (IPDs) Campaign Evaluation
Client: World Health Organization
Duration: January 2011 – March 2012
Project Description: Our team member worked as a State Surveyor, leading the evaluation of the IPDs campaign through Lot Quality Assurance Sampling. Responsibilities included:
- Planning, organizing, and leading the work of Independent Monitors during IPDs rounds
- Participating in the training and supportive supervision of Independent Monitors
- Ensuring accurate data collection on OPV vaccination status and evaluating IPDs performance
- Liaising with LGA personnel to ensure correct selection of starting settlements
Outcome: The project improved the accuracy and reliability of immunization data, aiding in the effective evaluation of the IPDs campaign and contributing to the success of maternal and neonatal tetanus elimination efforts.
